Agent |

There are different types of insurance agents. The "independent agent" usually represents two or more insurance companies in a sales and service capacity. Independent agents are paid by the insurance companies on a commission basis. An "exclusive agent" represents one insurance company and is also paid by the insurance company on a commission basis. The "direct writer" is a salaried or commissioned employee of a single insurance company and acts as its agent. |
