A person who has reached the legal age of majority and has full capacity to make his or her own contracts and deeds and generally transact business. The usual age is 18, but can vary from state to state. For example, in West Virginia, the age of majority and the legal age to sign a contract is 18. In Alabama however, the legal age to sign a contract is 15 while the age of majority is 19. |
