Agent |

A person who represents one or more insurance companies and who usually sells life insurance or annuities on a commission basis is known as an agent. This person sells coverage to the policyowners, is licensed by the State Insurance Department and appointed by the insurance company. The agent, by contract and by law, is endowed with selected powers and responsibilities. Also known as Insurance Agent. |
