Federal Estate Tax |
|

These are federal taxes imposed on the estate of the deceased based on the total value of the estate at the time of death. If there is a beneficiary living when the annuitant or owner dies, the death benefit, if payable, is paid directly to the beneficiary. If the deceased was the owner of the policy at any time within three years of death the death benefit may still be included in the owner's estate for estate tax purposes.
